Rating:⭐⭐⭐-(4/5)

In this story, three women — two vampires and one mortal — must overcome their losses and work together to rescue a young Antonia from her kidnappers. The bonds of friendship and motherhood unite these women on their quest, even as the forces of darkness threaten to tear them apart. Justine, Simone, and Teresa set out on an adventure to find clues about the missing Antonia. Along the way, they uncover new truths about themselves and the world. Through their shared bond of friendship and motherhood, they face the challenges ahead with grace and determination. Why was Antonia kidnapped? Will they be able to find Antonia and bring her home? Or will the forces against them prove to be too great?

Blood on the Water is the second book in the Blood series. It builds its momentum on the first book. If you're a fan of suspenseful fiction, this is a must-read

The author's use of simple language makes it accessible to varied readers. The characters, particularly Teresa, undergo an impressive journey of growth and development. We see her evolve from a vulnerable mortal to a fierce protector of her friends. It's a powerful transformation that adds depth and nuance to the story. The heroines are easy to root for, and their journey is fraught with danger and intrigue. I found myself cheering for them and turning the pages to see what happened next.

Likewise, this book combines magic, action, and romance to bring the story to life. The author touches on themes of both heterosexuality and homosexuality, adding a significant layer of inclusivity to the story. While the novel is well-written, it could benefit from a more rigorous editing process to ensure consistency and polish. Despite this, the book is an engaging read for adults who love supernatural stories. Overall, it deserves a 4 out of 5-star rating.
