Book Review of Endeavor’s Run by Tobin Marks

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⭐-(5/5)

A dystopian realm housing a medley of sci-fi and fantasy is brought to vivacity in Endeavor’s run, a book by Tobin Marks. This book begins a thousand years after world war cessation. Alex Porter, a pilot on the starship Endeavor, and his crew shortly embark on an expedition to locate the missing starship, Monarch. There is the enigma of the disappearance of the Starship Monarch that ensued while investigating a millennia-old distress alarm that stemmed beyond Mars. Will their mission be successful? What is Alex’s alliance with Aqueous? And what fate awaits them in Aqueous? Read this book to find out!

Tobin Marks blew my mind with his comprehensive world-building, clear writing, and realistic imagery. It is safe to call Tobin Marks a wordsmith because he provides incredible details to procure this futuristic world to exist. I felt immersed in every part of this book because I could work well with my imagination.

Likewise, he uses scientific scrutiny to accentuate substantial parts of this book, rendering this book factual. He thoroughly captures themes of warfare, fantasy, and a whit of mysticism that would leave its readers at the edge of their seats, just like it did with me.

Despite the array of characters, I fell in love with Alex Porter because he had more depth and humor. Regardless, Tobin made every character seem real. You can feel the passions that each character feels just by reading. I love how the different characters are similar but have a life of their own. The personalities evolve instantly, but I am delighted he allowed us a peek at their preceding lives because it shows what led them to the here and now.

Unfortunately, there are too many shifts and perspectives between the main settings, making the book slightly hard to follow, particularly at the beginning. However, once you are conversant with the style and action in each location, the book becomes easy to appreciate.

I was entirely blown away by the plot twist at the end, I was not expecting such, and that is how you know a good book. The editing of the book is flawless. Endeavor’s run: Book one of the Hope Prophecy Series deserves the widest possible readership and merits a 5 out of 5 stars. Tobin Marks has set the blaze in the sci-fi genre. Finally, I would recommend this book to sci-fi enthusiasts. People interested in apocalyptic reads, fantasy, and adventure would find this book thrilling. I cannot wait to read Katana Red: Book two of the Hope Prophecy Series.
