Book Review of Hap, the Prize-Winning Horse by Lieutenant Colonel Horace Crenshaw Jr.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐-(3/5)

Here is another story by the distinguished Lieutenant Colonel Horace Crenshaw Jr. titled Hap, the Prize-Winning Horse. It is a story of victory over many drawbacks. The book draws attention to the themes of resilience, devotion, confidence, and perseverance. The author hopes that anyone who reads this book will truly be inspired and know they can overcome any challenge they face in life.

This book is the second publication I have read by this author. Unfortunately, I was not entirely impressed. It was difficult to grab the plot of the story because of the unnecessary scenes and descriptions that infiltrated the book. There was too much switch from Hap, the horse, to his human owners and back. The story has potential, but the lack of flow in my reading proved that the story lacked focus and direction and was all over the place.

There are lessons to take on pursuing your dreams and not letting the setbacks you encounter deter you. I think that the author would have narrated the book more engagingly to get readers' attention and draw them to the lessons in the book. I give this book 3 out of 5 stars. Finally, I look forward to better publications from the author because he has promising talent.
