Book Review of Hard Faith by Ray Lopez

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐-(4/5)

Hard Faith by Ray Lopez is a book that sells itself just from the title. It is a memoir of Ray Lopez, featuring his many struggles in life. The book covers his daughter's survival and healing, the death of his parents, his marriage being on the brink of failure, his move to a new city, his sister-in-law’s death, and many other overwhelming challenges he fought.

Asides from life’s turmoil, he does not fail to narrate the difficulty in his Christian life. With this book, I caught myself, affirming some of the author’s senses. The challenges we face are not because God does not love us. Instead, it's because he loves us that he gives us these challenges, so we can find the strength to navigate life.

The book is surprisingly not lengthy despite encompassing many themes like racism, obsession, confinement, revitalization, salvation, family, profession, and catastrophe.

In the negatives, the book listed so many historical facts that the narrative began to change. It slowly went from a simple faith-based tragedy novella to a history textbook. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book. It came to me at a very critical time in my life. I am rating Hard Faith 4 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to people who are trying to find vitality and people who think the world is over for them. Come to this book and find motivation.
