Ingredients

  1. ½ cup unsalted butter
  2. 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  3. ¼ cup water
  4. ½ cup white and brown sugar each
  5. 6-8 Granny smith apples
  6. 1 recipe pastry

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degree Celsius
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and then stir in flour to form a paste
  3. Add water and sugar to paste
  4. Bring to a boil
  5. After some minutes, reduce the temperature and leave to simmer
  6. Make sure to peel, core and slice the apples while waiting for the paste to simmer
  7. Now place the bottom crust in a pan.
  8. Fill with apples and cover with a lattice work crust
  9. Carefully pour the sugar and melted butter mix over the crust.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 175 degree Celsius
  11. Continue baking for another 45 minutes or till the apples are soft
