Book Review Of The Siren’s Sister by R. M. Dilleen

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐-(5/5)

The Siren’s Sisters is a thrilling fantasy novel by R. M Dilleen. The story features Deandra as the protagonist. A naive, organized, and young graduate student is the perfect description of Deandra’s personality. She carries along with life until her world changes when she agrees to do a favor for a friend. She immediately permeates a realm of spirits, sigils, and fantastical animals.

The book is written in first-person narrative and set in modern and fantasy realms. This book has a tremendous about of characters, from Carla, Lillian, and Julia, to Hector, Artoros, king Llyr, Queen Innez, Deandra, and many others. The discourse between these characters felt authentic, and each character had their reasons for acting as they did.

The author was explicit in her descriptions and did not fail to include the map of sylfaveron. This gesture was like the icing on the cake. Her world-building is excellent. Of course, you can never catch Dilleen’s books with bad cover art. She immediately draws you in with her finesse writing and simple language.

Of a truth, discovering the events of your past may be frightening, yet Deandra was too quick to adjust and accept her new life. This act made the book seem very unrealistic. Another thing that put me off was how the author made trust easily accessible. It felt very unreal and rushed. I mean, I understand it is a work of fiction, but that context seemed too far-fetched.

Nevertheless, this irks does not stop me from giving the book a perfect rating. My overall reading experience was pleasurable. Inevitably, this book is a 5-star novel.
