Rating:⭐⭐️⭐⭐⭐-(5/5)
A Crack in Forever, by Barbara Avon, is a powerfully moving novel, vividly portraying the turbulence of undying love between Mario and Tess.
Mario losing his mother to death and experiencing abandonment from his father places him in a miserable state. Fortunately, he finds a home with the people he cherishes. Soon, Mario receives an unforeseen phone call from his father and decides to pay a visit. He discovers his half-brother, Tony, had allowed the bad friends to exploit him.
One thing led to another, and Mario didn't inform Tess about the mission to find Tony. Would he lose Tess because of a lie by omission? Would he find his brother? Will a sweet romance end in a bitter disaster?
Characterization here was very straightforward. Barbara took time to build each identity used in the story. The tale was wrapped perfectly around just a few characters in a way that allowed easy comprehension.
Like in characterization, the writing style was eloquent. The description was explicit. Any reader can create a mental picture of the occurrences in the book. The plot was one with balance and intrigue.
I enjoyed every scene in this book. Nonetheless, I came across a sufficient amount of profane language. However, all these helped to carry the story properly. The book was devoid of any errors, meaning it was well-edited. Indeed, Barbara Avon has again written a fine romance novel deserving a 5 out of 5 stars.
