Book Review Of The New Wine: Peace Town by Matthew Douglas Pinard

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐-(3/5)

The New Wine: Peace Town by Matthew Douglas Pinard is the second book of its series. Using Paxton Nathaniel Elkins's story, Matthew continues to draw a connection between Matthew and his link to Saint Mary. The author uses poems like in the first book to show this connection. Here, he utilizes the poem, Shaman’s blues, to show how two fraternal twin sons of Saint Mary can commune with each other through the linear lines by dissecting the poem into bits.

Likewise, what thrilled me was Matthew’s direct visions and communication with the spiritual realm. I marveled at how he comfortably got information and related them to the involved parties in the ghost light chapter.

I did not understand the possibility of Matthew and Jim Morrison meeting when he explained forgiveness because he mentioned in book one that he was born after Jim Morrison’s death. It was somewhat challenging to understand what he meant here. The supposed picture pieces of evidence to back Matthew’s claim did not seem very convincing to me as the ones in his first book. They looked like images that could arise as mere coincidence. I was not comfortable with the devilish scenery and pictorial representations included in the book. It did not appeal to me, but I must appreciate the author for his advice on discernment and how he unraveled the workings of the devil. If you wish to share this extraordinary knowledge, this book is something you should not miss. Ultimately, I am rating this book 3 out of 5 stars.
